이국주, 日 스시집에서 무시당했다…"모르면 구글 쳐봐"

 개그우먼 이국주가 일본에서 무시당한 불쾌감을 드러냈다. 30일 이국주의 유튜브 채널에는 '한국인 무속인 친구랑 같이 일본 점집 가보기'라는 제목의 영상이 게재됐다. 이날 이국주는 한국인 무속인 변도령, 절친 은지와 일본 점집을 방문했다. 그는 "2019년에 왔던 곳인데 6년째 그 자리를 지키고 있다"면서 자신의 연애운을 궁금해했다. 앞서 이국주의 점을 본 변도령은 "전 애인에게 연락은 오는데 잘되지 않는다"고 풀이했다고. 이국주는 "한국 무속인들이 나한테 '결혼운'이 안 보인다고 했다. 없어도 보겠다"고 의지를 내비쳤다.

 이국주의 사주와 이름(나라 국, 주인 주)을 본 일본인 점술가는 "굉장한 이름이다. 여왕님이시네요"라며 놀라워했다. 변도령 또한 "이름이 너무 세다"고 감탄했다. 결혼, 연애, 사랑운 풀이를 요청하자 일본인 점술가는 "작년과 올해 인기 많았는데, 아무것도 없었냐"면서 "애초에 결혼의 별이 없다. 결혼을 못 하는 건 아닌데 일을 우선시하는 스타일"이라고 말했다. 이에 이국주는 "결혼 포기" 선언 후 직업운으로 방향을 틀었다. 일본인 점술가는 이국주가 31살에 운명의 갈림길을 만난다고 설명하며 "개그우먼으로 돈 벌기는 힘들다. 그만두게 되거나, 가늘게 길게 가는 스타일로 성공하기 힘들어, 다른 걸로 돈을 벌어야 한다. 제과점, 빵집 하면 좋겠다"고 제안했다.

 이국주는 "마흔인 지금까지 잘 활동하고 있는데?"라며 고개를 갸우뚱헀다. 그러나 "개그우먼으로 집 못 산다"는 점술가 말에는 속상함을 드러냈다. 타로점에서 이국주는 "연락한 지 3개월 된 친구 같은 남자가 있다"며 연애운을 봤다. 일본인 점술가는 "당신을 좋아하는 것 같다. 흑심을 품고 있는 것 같다"고 전했다. 한편, 이국주는 점을 본 후 로컬 스시집을 찾았다. 절친 은지 씨가 와세대 졸업생으로 일본어가 출중한 가운데 일본 가게에서는 일본어로 된 메뉴를 묻자 "모르면 구글에 치면 다 나온다"며 다소 무시하는 말투를 사용했다.

 이국주는 "우리를 완전 관광객으로 생각하고, 일본어를 못한다고 생각하고 약간 막대하는 거다. 언어 안되거나 외국인이라고 하면 이렇게 대하는 곳이 있다"며 불쾌감을 드러냈다. 그러나 이국주가 메뉴 추가하자 가게 사람들이 대하는 태도가 달라졌다. 그는 특유의 친근감으로 옆 테이블 손님과도 친해졌고, 한글을 알려주기도 했다. 이국주는 "에너지 확 올라간다. 옆 테이블과 대화를 하며 일본어 공부 의지가 불타고 다"며 술자리 토크를 주도할 만큼 실력을 키우고 싶다고 이야기했다. 김은정 텐아시아 기자 eun@tenasia.co.kr
