 MBC 금토드라마 ‘메리 킬즈 피플’(기획 권성창/연출 박준우/극본 이수아/제작 미스터로맨스, 무빙픽쳐스컴퍼니, 스튜디오 안자일렌)은 치료 불가능한 환자들의 조력 사망을 돕는 의사와 이들을 추적하는 형사의 이야기를 다룬 서스펜스 드라마다. 
 지난 8일(토) 방송된 ‘메리 킬즈 피플’ 3회에서는 우소정(이보영 분)이 애틋한 감정을 가졌던 말기암 시한부 환자 조현우(이민기 분)의 진짜 정체가 경찰임을 알게 되는 대반전 서사가 휘몰아쳤다. 조현우의 조력 사망을 위해 홀로 나섰던 우소정은 이상한 분위기를 눈치채 체포될 뻔한 위기에서 도망쳤고, 반지훈(이민기 분)이 전속력으로 달려갔지만 우소정을 놓치면서 앞으로의 서사를 궁금하게 했다. 
 9일(오늘) 방송될 4회에서는 치명적인 반전 이후 다시 마주한 이보영과 이민기의 서늘한 아이콘택트 현장이 포착돼 이목을 집중시킨다. 극 중 우소정이 압수 수색 영장을 들고 온 경찰들과 함께 있는 반지훈을 목격하는 장면. 우소정은 배신감에 가득한 얼음장 눈빛을 반지훈에게 고정하지만 반지훈은 우소정의 매서운 눈길을 애써 피하며 다른 곳을 바라본다.

 이어 우소정과 반지훈은 응급실 앞에서 마주 선 채 이제는 적대관계로 극명하게 달라진 상황을 드러낸다. 우소정이 진심으로 충고를 건네는 반지훈을 향해 냉소적인 미소를 지어 보이는 것. 과연 우소정과 반지훈이 서로를 향해 날린 날카로운 공격과 응수는 어떤 내용일지 극강으로 치닫는 두 사람의 앞날에 귀추가 주목된다. 
 특히 이보영과 이민기는 ‘응급실 일촉즉발 대립’ 장면에서 소름 돋는 디테일한 연기로 ‘연기 장인’들의 내공을 입증했다. 이보영은 믿었던 사람에게 당한 배신감과 분노, 깊은 상처를 지닌 우소정의 심리적 격변을 떨리는 눈빛과 굳게 다문 입술로 표현했다. 이보영은 응축된 감정을 대사가 아닌 눈과 표정으로 오롯이 드러내 현장을 압도했다.

 이민기는 이제는 본체로 돌아와 냉정한 형사로 우소정을 대하려 하지만 눈 맞춤을 피하려는 미묘한 시선과 흔들리는 눈동자로 미안함과 죄책감을 고스란히 전달했다. 호흡부터 대사합까지 완벽한 두 사람의 열연이 극한의 긴장감 속 숨 막히는 신경전을 완성도 높게 이끌어냈다. 
 제작진은 “의사와 시한부 환자로 애틋함을 폭발시켰던 이보영과 이민기가 충격적인 반전 이후 다시 만나는 의미심장한 장면”이라며 “이제는 용의자와 형사로 돌이킬 수 없는 운명의 강을 건넌 두 사람의 대립이 어떤 결과를 맞이할지 4회 방송에서 확인해 달라”라고 밝혔다. 
 한편 MBC 금토드라마 ‘메리 킬즈 피플’ 4회는 9일(오늘) 밤 10시에 방송된다.
