           <p>먼저  타잔은 넘치는 에너지 탓에 유년 시절부터 '철인삼종'에 도전하며 활발한 활동을 이어갔다고 말했다. 그러나 "운동으로는 세계 1등이 되기 어렵다는 한계를 느꼈다"며 새로운 표현 수단을 찾던 중 사촌 누나의 추천으로 무용에 입문했다고 밝혔다. "스칼라십을 받고 미국 무용단 진출도 고려했지만, 결국 자신을 더 자유롭게 표현할 수 있는 길을 찾다 음악에 매력을 느꼈다"고 회상했다.</p>

           <p>한편 애니는 어린 시절부터 YG 아티스트들의 음악에 매료돼 빅뱅과 투애니원의 무대를 따라 하며 가수의 꿈을 키워왔다고 밝혔다. "롤리팝이 나왔을 때부터 씨엘(CL) 선배님의 파트를 맡아 동생에게 남은 파트를 맡기곤 했다"며 유쾌한 일화를 전했다. 그러나 부모님의 반응은 냉담했다. "노래나 춤 연습할 때 시끄럽다며 '다른 걸 그렇게 열심히 했으면 집 한 채는 지었겠다"는 잔소리를 자주 들었다"고 털어놨다.</p>

           <p>하지만 꿈을 포기하지 않은 애니는 결국 더블랙 레이블 오디션에 합격, 영상 수업과 피드백을 주고받는 방식으로 4년간 비대면 연습생 생활을 거쳤다. "한국에 직접 출근할 수 없었던 상황에서도 포기하지 않고 매일 평가 영상을 찍어 보냈다"고 밝혀 놀라움을 자아냈다. </p>
