           유제원 감독은 “이 작품은 눈만 맞으면 계속 싸우는 두 모녀의 이야기”라며 “이들이 어떤 일을 계기로 청해라는 시골 마을에 정착하는데 거기서 살면서 정석과 보현을 만나게 된다”며 “마을 사람들과 어우러져 살면서 많은 일들과 해프닝이 일어나는 가운데, 관계의 성장과 멜로의 성장, 개인으로서의 성장 등 보여줄 게 아주 많은 작품”이라고 소개했다.

           강철 같은 건설사 현장 소장이자 딸바보 싱글맘 이지안 역을 맡은 염정아는 작품 선택 이유에 대해 “일단 대본이 정말 재밌었고 유제원 감독과 일해보고 싶은 마음이 컸다”며 “주위에 있는 배우들도 감독님과 일한다고 하면 다들 부러워한다”고 이야기했다.
