 [TV리포트=남금주 기자] 폴킴이 BTS(방탄소년단) 뷔로 오해받은 일화를 밝혔다.
 26일 방송된 JTBC '아는 형님'에는 '외국 이름 남자 가수' 특집으로 팀, 폴킴, 강다니엘, 조째즈가 출연했다. 
 이날 조째즈는 "다 초면일 거라 생각하는데, 생각보다 방송에 많이 나갔다. '판타스틱 듀오'에 나가서 서장훈을 만났다. 근데 그때 S.E.S 노래를 불렀는데, 장훈이가 느끼하다고 해서 상처를 받았다"라고 밝혔다. 
 신동 빼고는 다 인연이 있다는 폴킴은 "여기 나와서 꼭 얘기하고 싶었는데, 방송이 짜고 치고 하는 건가 생각했다. 팀도 호동이 트라우마 있고, 조째즈도 장훈이 무서워하지 않냐. 근데 난 호동이가 너무 나한테 잘해줘서 연출이라고 생각했다"라고 고백했다. 그러나 이수근은 "요즘 시대에 그러면 징역 가. 사람이 바뀌지"라고 말해 웃음을 안겼다.

 그런 가운데 '외국 이름 남자 가수' 특집답게 각자 이름에 관련된 일화를 밝혔다. 강다니엘의 본명은 강다니엘로 "개명해서 지금은 본명이다. 난 강원도 원주에서 출생하고, 안양에 살다가 부산에서 쭉 살았다. 16살 때 개명했다. 원래 이름은 '강의건'이었다"라고 밝혔다. 강다니엘은 개명한 이유에 대해 "부산 사람들이 '의' 발음을 힘들어한다. 그래서 개명했다"라고 전했다. 
 조째즈의 본명은 조홍준으로, "내가 재즈를 너무 좋아해서 재즈 가수가 되고 싶었다. 그래서 째즈라는 이름을 썼다"라고 설명했다. 이어 조째즈는 "초등학교 시절엔 조재민이었다. god의 육아일기'에 나오는 재민이와 외모 차이가 많이 났다. 그래서 많이 놀림을 받을 것 같아서 엄마가 이름을 바꿔주셨다"라고 덧붙였다. 개명 후 학교에서 인기가 많아졌단 말에 강호동은 계속 추궁했고, 결국 조째즈는 "사실 거짓말이야. 인기 없었어"라고 외쳤다.
 미국 필라델피아에서 태어난 팀은 "영어 이름이 티모시인데, 짧게 얘기하면 팀이다"라며 "우리나라에선 이름 때문에 많이 힘들었다. 검색하면 '야구팀, 축구팀' 같은 것만 나온다"라고 토로했다.

 폴킴은 "폴이 세례명이고, 어릴 때부터 계속 쓰던 이름이다"라며 '김태형'이 본명이라고 밝혔다. 신동이 "오히려 김태형으로 했으면 지금은 좀 불편했을 수 있겠다"라고 하자 폴킴은 프라하 여행 일화를 꺼냈다. 
 폴킴은 "얼마 전에 프라하로 여행을 갔다. 로비에서 체크인을 해야 하는데, 남자 직원분이 날 계속 힐끔힐끔 보면서 웃더라. 내가 유럽에서 유명한가 싶었다. 그분이 혹시 가수냐고 물어서 '올 게 왔다' 싶었다. 한국에서 가수라고 하니까 어떤 아이돌 그룹이냐고 묻더라. BTS 아니냐고. 이름이 김태형이라고 적혀 있으니, 뷔랑 헷갈린 거다"라며 "그래서 내가 '뷔는 이런 호텔 안 와요. 뷔가 왔으면 난리 났을 거다'라고 했다"라고 밝혔다.
