 [스포츠서울 | 이승록 기자] 빠르다. 블랙핑크가 누구도 따라올 수 없는 속도로 질주 중이다.
 블랙핑크가 최근 발표한 완전체 신곡 ‘뛰어’(JUMP)는 이들이 지금까지 구축해온 힙합 중심의 음악 스타일과는 질감 자체가 다르다. 하드 스타일 기반의 EDM 트랙이다. 빠르게 쏟아지는 BPM 위로 묵직한 킥 베이스와 날카로운 신스 사운드가 더해졌다. 압도적인 속도감이 곡을 밀어붙인다. 제목 그대로 내달리는 음악이다.

 다만 워낙 급격한 변화 탓에 호불호가 갈렸다. 지난 고양 콘서트에서 ‘뛰어’가 선공개 됐을 때, 팬들 사이에서도 기존 블랙핑크의 감성과 비교해 이질적이라는 반응이 나왔다. 일각에서는 2000년대 테크노 음악의 리바이벌처럼 들린다는 평가까지 나왔다.
 블랙핑크는 반박하는 대신 성과로 입증했다. ‘뛰어’는 음원이 정식 발매된 뒤 스포티파이 글로벌 톱 송 데일리 차트에서 1위를 차지한 데 이어, 주간 차트 정상까지도 빠르게 올랐다. 공개 일주일 만에 4475만9923회의 스트리밍을 기록했다. 올해 발표된 곡들 가운데 가장 높은 수치다. 블랙핑크가 스포티파이 글로벌 주간 차트 1위에 오른 것은 정규 2집 타이틀곡 ‘셧 다운(Shut Down)’에 이어 두 번째다. K팝 그룹 최초의 기록이다.

 ‘뛰어’는 블랙핑크가 자신들의 성공 공식을 스스로 파괴하는 곡이다. 결코 지금의 자리에 안주하지 않겠다는 이들의 뜻이 읽혀진다. 반복 대신 도전을 택했기 때문이다.
 블랙핑크는 특유의 감성은 유지하되, 글로벌 트렌드에 부합하는 EDM 사운드를 입혀 음악적 스펙트럼을 확장했다. 이는 ‘YG 음악’의 중심축인 테디와 세계적인 EDM 아티스트 디플로(Diplo)의 협업으로 가능해졌다. 이 노래가 ‘익숙한 듯 새로운’ 인상을 주는 것도 이러한 시너지가 작용한 결과다.

 ‘뛰어’의 등장은 K팝 시장의 장르적인 피로감에 대한 해답이기도 하다. 블랙핑크가 글로벌 인기를 끌자 최근 몇 년간 K팝 신에는 ‘블랙핑크 스타일’을 답습하는 걸그룹이 쏟아졌다. 힙합 베이스, 도발적인 콘셉트, 저항적인 메시지 등 유사한 방향의 음악이 포화 상태였다.
 이때 블랙핑크가 전혀 다른 감각의 ‘뛰어’를 내놓은 것이다. ‘원조’는 자신들이 만든 스타일조차 재탕하지 않겠다는 강렬한 메시지다. 더 빠르고, 더 공격적이다. ‘뛰어’를 통해 블랙핑크는 후발주자들과 다시 간격을 벌리게 됐다.
 특히 지수, 제니, 로제, 리사 네 멤버 모두 솔로 활동으로 글로벌 입지를 확보한 상황이다. ‘뛰어’는 그런 이들이 ‘완전체’로도 여전히 멈출 생각 없다는 의지를 증명한 곡이다. 블랙핑크는 계속 다음 단계로 뛰어가겠다는 선언과도 같다. roku@sportsseoul.com
